DRC Vice President Liu Shijin met with Mr. Takashi Narusawa, Vice Chairman and Representative Director of Nomura Research Institute (NRI) and the NRI delegation from Japan. Mr. Narusawa expressed his sympathy and solicitude for the Chinese people who suffered greatly from the Sichuan earthquake and presented to DRC the series of information materials on Japanese experience in earthquake precautions and reconstruction. These materials were translated into Chinese language by the Chinese employees in NRI in their spare time. Vice President Liu expressed his thanks to NRI guests and briefed on the situation of China’s earthquake relief and rebuild work and the relevant study DRC is undertaking. Among those attended the meeting were Mr. Yu Bin, Director General of DRC’s Department of Macroeconomic Research, Mr. Hou Yongzhi, Deputy Director General of Research Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy, Mr. Lan Weiban, Deputy Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department, Ms. Yun Jun and Mr. Wu Zhenyu.
