On June 13, DRC President Zhang Yutai attended the closing ceremony of the 4th Economic and Social Policy Consulting Program (ESPCP) for developing countries. He congratulated in his speech on the success of this year’s program. Among those attending the closing ceremony were Mr. Wang Yaping, Director General of Training Center affiliated to Ministry of Commerce, Mme. Sun Lanland, Director General, and Mr. Lan Weiban, Deputy Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department, Mr. Wang Peiheng, Director General, and Ms. Li Lan, Deputy Director General of DRC’s Human Resources Study and Training Center. ESPCP is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by DRC’s Human Resources Study and Training Center. 49 director and director-general rank government officials from 27 African countries and Pakistan participated in the program. In Beijing, relevant DRC department leaders and senior experts gave their lectures to the participants systematically illustrating China’s national conditions, basic development experiences, the situation in the economic and social development since China started its reforms and opening up over 3 decades ago, challenges China is facing as well as the government strategies and policies in different periods designed for development. On their trip to Shenyang, Dalian and Jinan, they were briefed on the local development situation by leaders of government think tanks from Liaoning and Shandong provinces and visited a number of featured enterprises. The participants highly valued the success of the program. They expressed their wish to drawn on China’s development experiences in accordance with their respective national conditions an contribute to the economic and social development in their own countries.
