The China Development Forum 2013, sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), was held on March 23-25 at Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
With a comprehensive, in-depth examination of China’ s current challenges and future opportunities in international relations, the participants exchanged views on such issues as China's Asia-Pacific relations and disputes, Sino-Western relations, youth development, Chinese economic prospects for sustainable growth, legal reform and China on the global stage.
The forum, themed "China: To Deepen Reform and Opening-Up for a Well-Off Society,” attracted around 700 foreign and Chinese scholars and officials. Zhang Gaoli, vice-premier of the State Council, attended the forum and made a keynote speech. Li Wei, minister of the DRC, and other government leaders also delivered speeches or chaired meetings.
