The International Cooperation Department is in charge of management of international exchanges and cooperation of the DRC. Its main functions include: formulate management regulations on international exchanges and cooperation of the DRC; formulate development plans and annual programs for the DRC’s international exchange and cooperative activities; approve and manage the DRC’s international cooperation programs, bilateral and multilateral conferences, and the affairs of international organizations; approve and manage international exchange activities including overseas business visits of DRC staff, inviting and receiving overseas visitors; organize and manage academic exchanges and cooperation programs of the DRC with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan; manage international personnel exchange and training programs of the DRC; and attend to other foreign affairs of the DRC.
The department is also responsible for editing news on international exchanges for the DRC website and other international publicity affairs of the DRC.
For many years and in close cooperation with other research departments and institutes of the DRC, the International Cooperation Department has planned, organized and promoted a large number of international academic exchange and cooperation activities, including joint research and international conferences. At the same time, the department has also organized and participated in research programs on international cooperation.
