The ninth annual session of the China Development Forum, themed "China towards 2020: Development Goals and Policy Options", was held on March 23-24, in Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

The participants, including representatives from government ministries, international organizations, foreign businesses and academic institutions, discussed major issues, including the pursuit of China's fast economic development, building innovation-oriented national policies and measures, construction of a resource-conserving and environmentally-friendly society, and the potential and prospects of China's consumer market.

The China Development Forum 2008 was organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council.
