The China Development Forum 2009, themed "China's Development and Reform in the Global Financial Crisis", was held on March 22-23 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Li Keqiang, vice-premier of the PRC at the time, addressed the opening ceremony.

There were at least 300 participants, including multinational CEOs, representatives of major international organizations, renowned scholars, government officials, business executives and academics.

During the forum, the participants carried out in-depth discussions and research on the following issues: current global economic recession and prospects of recovery, Obama's new economic policy and its evaluation, and China's growth-securing policy and its evaluation, global financial market changes and the impact on financial institutions, and corporate strategies to meet with the global economic crisis.
