Minister Li Wei visited Hong Kong from January 16 to 19. As an international advisor of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD), Minister Li Wei participated in the Inaugural Meeting of CIRSD Board of Advisers and delivered keynote speech on the subject of sustainable urban development.

Among those who participated in the meeting were Mr. Vuk Jeremic, President of 67th UN Assembly and President of CIRSD, Ms. Micheline Calmy-Rey, former Swiss President, Mr. Shaukat Aziz, former Pakistan Prime Minister, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute of Columbia University and other international advisors.

Apart from the meeting, with the support from Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong SAR, Minister Li Wei attended another workshop to exchange views on the outlook of export and import and international finance of 2014 with 10 Chinese SOEs including those from the local Bank of China, COFCO, Sinopec, China Resources etc.

Dr. Hou Yongzhi, Director General of Research Department of Development Strategy and Reginal Economy, Dr. Zhao Jinping, Director General of Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Ms. Zhang Chenghui, Director General of Institute of Finance joined in those events.
