Li Wei carries out survey in Tangshan

Li Wei, minister of DRC, is listening to the introduction of the development of Caofeidian new district.

Li Wei, minister of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), led a team to Tangshan, Hebei province, to carry out a survey on industrial transfer, Caofeidian new district construction and the real estate market from May 15-16.

The team visited Tangshan's Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co, a 250,000-ton ore terminal and the command center of the Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal (LNG). They also studied Tangshan's real estate market.

The team also took part in a meeting to discuss the city's industrial transfer and new district construction. Jiang Deguo, vice-governor of Hebei province, and secretary of the Tangshan municipal Party committee, attended and hosted the meeting.

Leaders from the province's research institutes, the Development and Reform Committee, and the Tangshan municipal government were present.

Yu Bin, director-general of the DRC's Department of Macroeconomic Research; Hou Yongzhi, director-general of the Development Strategy and Regional Economy Department; Zhao Changwen, director-general of the Research Department of Industrial Economy; Ren Xingzhou, director-general of the Institute of Market Economy; and Lai Youwei, the center's research fellow, took part in the survey.
