Summary:
According to President Xi Jinping's instructions on the construction of new think tanks with Chinese characteristics and the guideline in The Decision on Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms in the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, this report studies and compares think tanks, Western think tanks and China's political system. It also explains that China's think tanks have entered a new development stage in terms of theory and practice. It points out that the country will depend more on think tanks in public decision-making. New kinds of think tanks will play a more important role in advancing China's administrative system and governance.
The study mainly explains the content and requirements of new kinds of think tanks by exploring its characteristics. It also tries to answer how to construct new think tanks with Chinese characteristics in practice.
