The e-government has scored rapid development in China in recent years and many government websites with their own characteristics have cropped up. Overall speaking, however, the e-government in China has stayed backward and many problems are awaiting urgent solutions. China should further clarify the role and position of the e-government in the construction of the information drive. It should be regarded as a basic strategy for the information drive of the national economy and the society to promote the information drive by virtue of the e-government.
