Abstract:
The local governments could share the central government's role in responding to technical barriers in international trade. Taking Beijing as an example, the paper offers 13 suggestions for dealing with foreign technical barriers: to integrate resource to form a unified power; to speed up information network construction and set up an early warning system on technical barriers; to improve the technical regulation system and enforce the construction of a standard system; to help enterprises to adopt international standards and advanced standards of the developed countries; to speed up training of professional personnel; to put in more efforts in giving publicity to the knowledge of technical barriers and related training; to stress and bring into play the roles of industrial associations and commerce chambers in the import and export business.
