Abstract:

The Gansu Province tourist industry is taken as a case to illustrate the importance of this sector in western development. It analyzes the development tendency of tourist industry and existing problems in Gansu Province under the background of western development It puts forward the following policy recommendations on promoting tourist industry: make a comprehensive development program, build a consistent management system, encourage private capital investment in the tourist sector, regroup China's tourist industry to answer the challenge after accession to WTO, as well as to put more effort into conservation of natural tourist resources and historical relics.
