Abstract:　

The paper elaborates on the general trend of the urbanization worldwide from a fresh perspective and comes up with the concept of the size of cities and towns approaching to mean. On that basis, the paper examines the development process of typical cities and towns as regional centers in foreign countries, the supporting policies by governments and the enlightenment of the mean-approaching trend of cities and towns worldwide for the development of regional cities and towns in China.
