Abstract:
Over the 20 plus years since implementation of reform and opening to the outside world China has seen stable employment growth and steady growth in labor productivity. The paper attempts to analyze the employment growth and structure changes in the years and their impact on the improvement in labor productivity. It offers some policy proposals for promoting employment and improving labor productivity.
