Abstract:

The food supply in China is 370 kg per capita on average. At this supply level, demand for food grain is generally satisfied. However demand on certain categories of food grain cannot be met by domestic supply. Therefore domestic production together with appropriate import will balance general supply and demand, and keep the food grain price stable. At present, scientific and healthy diet should be encouraged in China.
