Abstract:

In the new round of economic growth, the heavy industry is expanding at a high speed with an increasing percentage in the whole industry. Labor and land cost are rising in the coastal areas, the industrial sector is undergoing a process of upgrading and relocation. These changes have brought major opportunities to the western region in China, such as the relocation of industry, the opportunities in displaying the advantages in mineral and heavy industry sectors, the opportunities in displaying advantage of education and science and technology, as well as that in environment and resources. At the same time, the western region should pay more attention to improving the method of introduce foreign capital, put into pilot practice of introducing investment for appropriate trades, and arrange government to government support between the eastern and western regions.
