The impact of the WTO accession on wheat industry in China and the counter-measures

Abstract:
China is a net importer of wheat and wheat importation is subject to quota administration according to the WTO accession commitment. If the quota is fully utilized, considerable impact will be left on the production and circulation of wheat in China. Therefore China ought to strengthen development of quality wheat, reduce wheat production cost, and set up and improve quota management system in order to ensure grain safety of China.
