Abstract:
In 2003, China's consumer market was firstly low and then went up, and a steady and rapid growth was the main trend. The market prospects for 2004 would be an accelerated and steady growth, with a moderate rise of prices within a reasonable range. The annual retail value of consumer goods is expected to be over RMB500 billion with about 11% increase over the last year. To facilitate the development of consumer market, efforts should be made to guide and expand consumer demand, promote upgrading of consumption structure, provide more facilities for consumers, improve the market environment and market order, and to speed up the market construction.
