Abstract:
The world economy entered into a period of overall recession in 2001 with an all-round decline in the economic growth rate in the countries and regions covered by the three major monetary systems. Against the background of economic globalization, the world economy will have some bearing on the macro-economic decision making in China. The paper makes a summary of the forecasting methods used by the world economic forecasting organizations and the overviews of the publications, builds on the materials of international organizations and non-governmental organizations, and reviews the world economy in 2001 and makes a prospect for the world economy in 2002 for the purpose of serving as a reference for the macro-economic decision making of the state.
