Abstract:
The opening of the banking sector and the reform of the state-owned commercial banks should proceed in tandem. If the reform lags behind the opening, the system risks of the banking sector will intensify. The opening of the banking sector will not be able to replace the reform of the state-owned commercial banks. Further a timetable for the reform will make the tasks of reform ever more urgent. The reform of the state-owned commercial banks will not only concerns their own future, but also the stability of the entire economy and society.
