DRC delegation visits Singapore, Vietnam and Japan

A delegation from China's Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) paid a visit to Singapore, Vietnam and Japan, April 10-19, to take part in the Singapore Forum and the 33rd China-Japan Economic Knowledge Exchange Meeting.

Li Wei, DRC president, headed the delegation and joined exchanges of ideas with other participants concerning China's Belt and Road Initiative along neighboring countries, economic and trade cooperation, and social security.

In addressing the Singapore Forum, Li spoke about community awareness, inclusive growth, and consolidating the foundation for Asia's sustainable economic development, and then met with Lee Yi Shyan, of Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry.

In Vietnam, the delegation met with Vuong Dinh Hue, head of the Economic Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and heads of the Foreign Affairs and Planning and Investment ministries.

In Japan, he also addressed the opening ceremony of the 33rd China-Japan Economic Knowledge Exchange Meeting and discussed global economic trends, economic cooperation and exchange with Japan, and social security systems in the two countries, with the Japanese participants. Afterwards, he visited housing and nursing homes for low-income people.

Joining Li in the visit were Cheng Guoqiang, director-general of DRC's International Cooperation Department, Hou Yongzhi, director-general of its Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy, and Ren Xingzhou, director-general of the Institute for Market Economy.
