The Inaugural DRC - Harvard Forum, organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) and Harvard University, was held in Haikou, China's southernmost Hainan province, on Nov 7-8.
The Forum, with a theme of China's Economy and the New Normal, featured top experts from China and the US discussing the transition of China's economic growth, middle and long-term economic prospects, microeconomic policies, opening-up, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Experts from the US included Martin Feldstein, president emeritus of the United States National Bureau of Economic Research, and other professors and experts from Harvard University, the Peterson Institute for International Economics, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the University of California, San Diego.
DRC President Li Wei addressed the opening ceremony, and DRC former Vice-President Liu Shijin made a keynote speech, with other research fellows from the DRC taking part in discussions.
