Zhang Laiming, Vice-President of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), took part in the fifth meeting on the communication mechanism of the ruling parties between China and Japan, on Dec 24. Zhang made a speech about strengthening pragmatic cooperation and promoting common development.

Attending the meeting were officials from the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Human Resources and Social Security Ministry, the Environmental Protection Ministry, and the Ministry of Commerce, as well as representatives from Japan's ruling parties alliance.
