Research Report No.114, 2016 (Total 4997)2016-09-01

Abstract: Results of household survey on people’s concern about their livelihood show that medical care and old-age care rank respectively the 2nd and 6th places among people’s most dissatisfied factors relating to their living conditions, while environmental pollution and ecological damage rank the 1st place in their most dissatisfied factors. It is found through further study that various kinds of basic public services have varied influence on people’s life satisfaction in urban and rural areas, including medical care, old-age care, food safety, ecological environment, housing and education, out of which people are most concerned about medical care and old-age care, accounting respectively for 6.37% and 81.67% of the degrees of their life satisfaction, and various kinds of basic public services. Therefore, we should strive to improve the level of medical and old-age care, and give more support to medical and old-age insurances in villages and townships, so as to practically remove people’s concerns on medical and old-age cares in urban and rural areas.
