Wang Xiaoming

Research fellow and director of Research Office No. 1, Department of Industrial Economy, Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC)

He was born in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province in 1972.

In 1995, he graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Heilongjiang University with a Bachelor's Degree. In 2000, he got a Master’s Degree in business administration in School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. In 2010, he received a Doctoral Degree in economics in School of Economics, Renmin University of China.

He joined DRC in 2000 and was first involved in the work of transportation and environmental protection research in the Information Center. From 2001-2006, he worked in the General Office of DRC and did research on public sector issues such as health care and housing. From 2006-present, he has made research in industry, transportation and energy areas and he is now Director of the No. Research Office of Research Department of Industrial Economy of DRC.

He has, as a program officer, participated in the following projects:

Research on the Upgrading of China's Industrial Structure;

Development Strategy and Policy Research on Strategic Emerging Industries;

Development of China's Auto Industry;

Sustainable Development Mode for China's Big Cities.

He has written and put out the following research papers and books:

Problems during the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries and Policy Suggestions;

Judgment on the Stage of China's Industrialization Development;

Survey on Technological Innovation Capacity of Chinese Enterprises;

Blue Book of Auto Industry. 2008-2012;

China's Industrial Reforms over the Past 30 Years.
