Ye Xingqing

Ye Xingqing is now the Director-General of the Research Department of Rural Economy of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), part-time researcher of China Agricultural University, part-time professor of Jilin Agricultural University, vice chairman of the Chinese Forestry Economic Society, and executive member of the Chinese Agricultural Society.

Sept 1980 – July 1984, he studied at Huazhong Agricultural University, in agricultural economic management, and gained a bachelor's degree;

Sept 1984 – July 1986, he studies at Huazhong Agricultural University, in agricultural economic management, and got a master's degree in 1987;

Sept 1992 – July 1995, he studied at the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in agricultural economic management, and obtained his PhD degree;

July 1986 – Dec 1992, senior staff member and principal staff member, Poverty Relief Office of the State Council;

Sept 1988 – March 1989, studied at the Roman Management School in Italy;

Dec 1992 – July 2013, deputy director-general, director-general, associate counsel, and counsel, in the agriculture sector of the State Council Research Office;

Ye had been involved in poverty-stricken area development research when he worked in the Poverty Relief Office of the State Council. He had taken part in "China’s poverty-stricken area economic development research", which is the key project in the country's philosophy and social sciences study. He published an academic monograph – Economic Growth in China's Edge Zones in 1990, and many academic papers in the country's professional periodicals.

Ye has conducted in-depth research into the fields of modern agriculture, new village construction, grain circulation, agricultural tax systems, urbanization, rural migrant workers, and land systems, and he has compiled large amounts of research materials, which got the approval of leaders in the State Council, and played an important role in making some crucial decisions.
