Research Report, Special Issue, No.57, 2018 (Total 1624) 2018-12-21

Abstract: To promote the development of waste resources recycling industry, we need to fully understand the ecological and environmental impact of the use of waste resources. This research paper sorts out the main ways of using waste resources, and analyzes the ecological and environmental impact of the recycling of waste resources in China, by means of applying the first-order recession model of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to measure the amount of methane produced in solid waste landfill process and its impact on energy conservation and emission reduction in China. The research findings show that waste resources recycling, especially the recycling of solid waste, could not only help save fossil resources, increase energy supply, but also could effectively alleviate the greenhouse effect, which has a significant positive impact on China’s ecological environment.

Key words: recycling of waste resources, energy conservation and emission reduction, ecological environment, methane
