Abstract: An investigation in Taiwan shows that as one of the leading regions of industrialization and urbanization in east Asia, Taiwan has its own characteristics and highlights in the development of modern agriculture, which has gradually developed a good path of fine agriculture in the past 30 years. The main feature is combining advantages of the traditional farming system with modern elements adapting to the small scale. The major practice are as follows: promote niche market competition in the open market; based on health criteria, clarify verification, supervision and identification of product quality and safety; with excellence as a goal, promote research & development, popularization and application of leading technologies; guided by LOHAS, reshape the customs, values and charm of rural countryside; take reform as a driving force to create a good agricultural environment for urban and rural talents. The practice of developing fine agriculture in Taiwan has significant implications for the work of revitalizing rural areas in the mainland. In the new era, there is great potential for agricultural development and innovation. To promote rural revitalization, it is necessary to develop fine agriculture, cultivate a new generation of talents, and further policy and system reforms.
