The 2019 annual meeting of the China Development Forum, hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing from March 23 to 25.
The theme of the forum was “Greater Opening-up for Win-Win Cooperation”.
More than 1,200 global business leaders, heads of international organizations, internationally renowned scholars, and central and local government officials attended the forum.
Premier Li Keqiang met with the main foreign delegates to exchange views on China's economic expectations, the main principles of the Foreign Investment Law, the government's supervision of innovation activities, new drug research and development, safety production and other issues. Vice Premier Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech, and Vice President Wang Qishan attended the 20th anniversary welcome banquet of the forum.
Li Wei, President of the DRC, served as the forum’s chairman and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, another at the economic summit dinner, and a third concluding speech at the forum’s concluding ceremony.
Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice-President of the DRC Ma Jiantang presided over the eighth session of the forum, which was focused on “Opening-up and Cooperation: Mutual Benefits and Common Development”.
Wang Anshun, Vice-President of the DRC (ministerial-level), presided over the seventh session themed on “The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area: A Rising Star in the Global Economy”.
Vice-President Zhang Junkuo presided over the "Guangzhou: A New Chapter of Opening-up" roundtable. Vice-President Zhang Laiming presided over the third session, "New Measures under Proactive Fiscal Policy" and Vice-President Long Guoqiang presided overthe fifth session "Towards Opening-up on All Fronts" as well as the economic summit "WTO Reform and the Future of Globalization". Vice-President Wang Yiming spoke at the economic summit and presided over the fourth session of the forum, focused on "The Financial Services Industry: Opening up and Stability”. Yu Bin, Director-general of the General Office, presided over the plenary meeting of the economic summit which had a topic of “Opening-up for a Better Future".
