Abstract: The distributed photovoltaic (PV) economy is an economic system that can best reflect the features of PV distribution. With bright prospects, this green economic form based on new energy which can be widely appliced allows idle resources to be utilized and generates prosumers of electricity. The distributed PV economy can create millions of jobs, activate abundant idle resources of urban and rural areas and blaze new trails to benefit people through the sunlight. It can boost rural revitalization, promote high-quality development of the PV industry and generate energy revolution that benefits the whole world. In short, the distributed PV economy can become a new driving force for high-quality development. It is high time to develop the distributed PV economy which will soon flourish. However, the development of distributed PV is still restricted by certain factors as its high-quality development requires efforts of all sides. It is suggested that China should attach more importance to the distributed PV economy to make it a new driving force of economic development, formulate fair and reasonable annual plans on the scale of household PV installation, and promote the net measurement method for PV.
