Abstract: Singapore is a city country in Southeast Asia, well known as a Garden City on the list of high-income countries. For most countries, rapid economic growth is usually accompanied by the decline of environmental quality and degradation of natural resources. However, Singapore has achieved both economic growth and environmental protection goals. Over the past 50 years, it has improved its industrial structure steadily, enhanced the utilization efficiency of resources and energy, and maintained high-quality ecological environment. To promote green development, Singapore has adopted a variety of measures such as scientific layout of production, living and ecological space and strict formulation and implementation of environmental regulations and standards. By adopting economic policies to promote green transformation, it has launched precise environment-related supervision on key industries. In picking up experience from Singapore, China needs to, based on industrial upgrading and strict environmental laws enforcement, improve the layout of production, living and ecological space, abide by environmental economic policies, and carry out precise management of key industries to accelerate green development.
