Abstract: Recently, the secretariat of The China Development Forum has held a series of video conferences on the analysis of international economic situation, inviting well-known Chinese scholars from various fields to discuss hot-spot and difficult issues of global concern with heads of the world’s top 500 enterprises and leading enterprises of various industries, and overseas scholars and experts of international organizations. On the evening of July 23, 2020, the fifth video conference on international economic situation was held with the theme of “Global Epidemic and Economic Prospects in the Second Half of 2020”. Michael Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization’s Health Emergency Programme, Gian Maria Milesi-Ferreti, Deputy Director from the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund, and Huang Yiping, Deputy Dean of the School of National Development at Peking University were invited as keynote speakers to introduce and analyze the future of the global COVID-19 epidemic and economic development in the second half of 2020 to the guests attending the conference. This article is a summary of the expert views from the video conference.
