The commencement of the Seminar on China’s Development Experience and Cases was held in Beijing on Aug 16. Chen Runyun, Vice-President of the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), and Wei Jigang, Vice-President of the Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD), attended the ceremony. Student representatives from Pakistan, Zambia and Peru delivered keynote speeches at the event.

Chen said that the CIKD had made full preparations for the 14-day seminar, and that 93 students from 12 countries shared their experiences with each other in the online seminar with full enthusiasm despite the impact of COVID-19. He expressed his hope that the students would share the best wishes of the Chinese people with their home countries, and that they would continue to explore sustainable development and international cooperation paths for their own countries, and make contributions to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation between different countries.

Wei said that the seminar brings students together to share their experiences through reviewing China’s poverty alleviation process, conducting cause analysis, case studies and discussions, as well as to watch CIKD videos. They have established deep friendships and shared knowledge on development with one another. Wei hoped that the CIKD could continue to cooperate with their countries in knowledge development, and that all students could work together to promote the sustainable development agenda and a community of a shared future for mankind.

The seminar lasted for 14 days, and the course were primarily designed on the basis of CIKD’s research achievements in poverty alleviation in recent years. The teachers were also researchers from the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) and the CIKD.
