Abstract: Cross-regional coordinated development is not only an inevitable requirement to practice the new development philosophy, but also the inherent response to the call for the common development and shared prosperity of local people. In recent years, the Party Central Committee has vigorously promoted the regional coordinated development and achieved notable progress with a series of measures including the establishment of mechanisms for planning synergy and cross-regional coordination, pushing ahead with infrastructure connectivity, strengthening industrial coordination by relying on the strong driving force of central cities and specific regions, and enhancing the coordinated governance of spillover issues such as ecological environment preservation. In the meantime, the practice has also presented us with a lot of useful enlightenment listed as follows. The overall formulation of systematic development plans is the fundamental prerequisite for promoting coordinated development. Building an efficient cross administrative regional coordination mechanism is the basic guarantee for promoting coordinated development. Giving full play to the leading role of central cities is an effective help for promoting coordinated development. Strengthening the close cooperation of local governments is an important support for promoting cross regional coordinated development. And giving full play to the role of market mechanism is the key means to promote coordinated development.
