Abstract: Medical image equipment is high-end cutting-edge medical equipment, but there is still a gap between the industry in China and the advanced international level. China is now entering a new era featuring a new development stage, philosophy and paradigm to drive high-quality development, which also applies to the medical image equipment industry. The sector should maintain deepening of supply-side structural reform. The major methods are: first, comprehensively upgrading products and production structure; second, strengthening united technology innovation; third, promoting the upgrading of the industrial base and the modernization of industrial chains; fourth, encouraging the high-quality development of leading enterprises; and fifth, strengthening demand-side management. It is suggested to formulate a high-quality development strategy and plan for the medical image equipment industry and to form an industrial organization for it; to improve market systems for medical image equipment and form a new development dynamic; to promote integrated innovation in medical image equipment with leading enterprises playing key roles; and to accelerate building Chinese medical image equipment enterprises into world-class ones.
