Research Report No 157, 2013
Abstract:
In order to get an overall picture of the export situation in the second half of the year and understand the challenges facing export companies in China, we conducted a questionnaire survey of the export situation in 225 export companies from more than 20 cities in China from June 1 to 10, 2013.
The survey found that China's exports have grown at a slow speed. Small companies face more challenges than medium or large companies in export business. Half of total companies suffer from rising costs, which has led to shrinking profit margins. They expect the government to take measures to curb costs and the rise of the yuan as well as to ease trade frictions.
