Abstract:

Between 1995 and 2000, Sino-Japanese trade and Sino-ROK trade have shown the three characteristics. First, the rate of growth of trade between China and Japan and between China and Republic of Korea declined considerably. Secondly, the products on the top of trade between China and Japan changed significantly with electrical machines and equipment ranking in the first place in both import and export between the two countries while the composition of trade between China and Japan remained basically unchanged. Thirdly, the importance of trade with Republic of Korea in China's total foreign trade was gaining in importance while that of trade with Japan declined relatively.
