Abstract:

The ten-year rapid growth of tax revenue following the reform of the tax-sharing system is an important phenomenon in the natio's economic life. Many factors have contributed to the high growth rate: fast and steady economic development and substantial improvements in the quality of economic operation, improvements in tax collection and management, heightened sense of tax liability of the general public, the elimination of fees and the emphasis on the role of taxation. The rapid growth of tax revenue will continue in years to come, since macro tax burden has not yet reached the critical point and there is still considerable room for tax collection. Therefore, it is possible that the growth rate of tax revenue will surpass that of GDP for other three to five years. During this period of time, we should speed up the reform and improvement of tax regime.
