Ma Jiantang, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), went to Daming county, Hebei province to learn about the targeted poverty alleviation work from March 28 to 29.

Ma went to Shuangtai village to inspect the early education, canteens, supermarkets, and sheep breeding in the village. Ma inspected the Daming County Poverty Alleviation Center and industrial poverty alleviation projects in the county. He also went to a local poverty alleviation forest to participate in the tree planting activity.

Ma held discussions with leaders of Daming county and delegates from Shuangtai village. The county has successfully passed the assessment of poverty alleviation and development in Hebei province and a third-party assessment, he said, adding the poverty alleviation work has made decisive progress, which is not an easy thing to do.

DRC will enhance cooperation with the county, and together they will conduct research on poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. They will support low-income groups in rural areas, help them realize modernization, and help implement the rural revitalization strategy in the county during the “14th Five-Year-Plan” period (2021-2025).

Ma witnessed the signing of several poverty alleviation agreements during his visit. In addition, he delivered a donation of 80,000 yuan (about 11,900 dollars) to Daming county on behalf of the Party members of DRC.
