Yu Bin, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director General of the General Office of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), led a delegation to the United States and Mexico from June 5 to 14 to attend the 16th "Symposium on Building the Financial System of the 21st Century: An Agenda for China and the United States".
The delegation conducted a special study on issues such as Sino-US relations, the changes of the global governance system, and the construction of the Belt and Road under the current global economic situation.
Yu delivered a keynote speech at the welcome dinner of the symposium. More than 100 experts, regulators and practitioners from Chinese and American financial circles conducted in-depth discussions on economic relations, cross-border financial business and changes in the international financial market.

Yu met with Li Cheng, Director of Research at the Brookings Institution’s John L. Thornton China Center, and Rafiq Dossani, Director of the RAND Center for Asia Pacific Policy, on June 7 and June 12 respectively, and exchanged views with them on the issues of US economic growth prospects and the impact of Sino-US trade frictions on the US economy.
Yu visited the University of Southern California and met with Willow Bay, Dean of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and exchanged ideas with scholars of the university on global economic governance, Sino-US relations and strategic communication, on June 12.

During his trip to Mexico, Yu visited the National Autonomous University of Mexico and met with Eduardo Vega López, Director of the School of Economics, and Enrique Dussel Peters, head of the China-Mexico Studies Center, to exchange views on inter-agency cooperation.
Yu attended a symposium on Belt and Road construction in Latin American regions and delivered a speech. The delegation exchanged ideas with Mexican experts and political and business practitioners on the progress and challenges of Belt and Road construction, China-Mexico economic and trade relations and cooperation prospects.
The delegation also went to the Chinese Embassy in Mexico to attend a symposium of Chinese-funded enterprises, and studied the current situation and challenges of Chinese-funded enterprises in Mexico.
