Research Report, No.131, 2021 (Total 6196) 2021-5-21

Abstract: Since the 18th CPC National Congress, China’s ecological civilization has undergone historic, critical and over-all changes in both theoretical and practical terms, though confronted with a plethora of problems and challenges at the same time. Museums serve as an important instrument for conserving and carrying forward human civilization, and a bridge of time linking the past, present and future. To build national ecological civilization museums for China is not only a means of fulfilling the requirements made by General Secretary Xi Jinping about boosting the socialist cultural development, but also an approach to practicing his thought on ecological civilization. Building China’s ecological civilization also has significance for the archaeological excavation work of ecological cultural heritage, holding exhibitions of ecological civilization progress, educating people on ecological civilization, studying and publicizing Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization, and promoting international ecological communication and exchange. Therefore, it is necessary to take Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization as the guiding principle in China’s efforts to build comprehensive museums for displaying all aspects of China’s ecological civilization, pursue high-quality, intelligence-based and green development of China’s ecological civilization museums.
