Research Report, No.282, 2021 (Total 6347) 2021-9-23

Abstract: Nowadays, the issue of safeguarding health of the full life cycle has caught the eye of the people, especially the issue of childcare services. Sweden, France, Japan and South Korea have constantly paid attention to the system building of childcare services, and gained rich experience in policy formulation and implementation. For instance, they made efforts to improve the top-level design and legal system, keep increasing input and childcare subsidies, design policy on parenting leaves in a scientific manner, provide stable and amiable family policy support, formulate sound welfare policies on childcare welfare, ensure high-quality childcare services, and establish and refine the maternal and childcare system. Their experience makes good reference for China to formulate a sound childcare policy. In the new era, we need to strengthen the top-level design and the legal system for childcare services, improve the family functions and policy arrangements, optimize the welfare policy system on childcare, cultivate high-quality services suppliers, accelerate the integrated development of maternal and childcare institutions, so as to initiate China’s childcare services to a new stage.
