Research Report, No.371, 2021 (Total 6436) 2021-12-6

Abstract: Digital medical care has witnessed a big boom along with the popularization of the new-generation information technologies and ever-changing demand in medical treatment and health care. It is found through study results that digital medical treatment has made remarkable progress in smart medicine, smart treatment, smart health insurance and smart eco-system building sectors, which have not only fueled the development in the above-mentioned sectors, but also boosted  the people’s health care services. However, digital medical care has also laid bare some problems such as non-smooth data sharing, impotent cost sharing mechanism, inadequate  regulation, and weak understanding and awareness in digital medical care. For further development of digital medical care, it is necessary to work on the following issues. First, we need to strengthen top-level design to overcome difficulties in medical data sharing via technology and rulemaking. Second, we need to explore a category-based payment model to provide a solution for cost sharing in digital medical care. Third, we need to intensify efforts in establishing standards for making rules and monitoring performance for regulated development of digital medical care. Fourth, we need to enrich people’s knowledge on digital medical care and help them gain a proper understanding of digital industry.
