Zhang Shunxi, vice-president of the Development Research Center of the State Council, led a delegation to visit Australia and New Zealand from July 27 to Aug 1, 2025. The visit focused on building more resilient agricultural supply chains.

In Australia, the delegation held discussions with representatives of government departments, agricultural research institutions, universities and enterprises in Western Australia. They also conducted field visits to grain research facilities, a grain terminal, a farm and soil regeneration trial sites.

In New Zealand, the delegation exchanged views with representatives from Fonterra, Plant & Food Research and the New Zealand China Trade Association. They also visited an orchard operated by Zespri.
