Lu Hao, president of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council , led a delegation to Uzbekistan from March 31 to April 3.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions on China-Central Asia development cooperation and China-Uzbekistan cooperation with relevant government departments of Uzbekistan, think tanks from Central Asian countries, regional international organizations and enterprises.
The delegation met separately with senior officials and representatives from relevant government departments, think tanks and research institutions in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. They also exchanged views with representatives of regional organizations and enterprises on advancing development cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and reached preliminary cooperation intentions with the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms of Uzbekistan.
Lu chaired a seminar on China-Central Asia development cooperation, where participants exchanged views on priority areas and proposals for China-Central Asia development cooperation. Representatives and experts from leading Central Asian think tanks, regional organizations and enterprises attended the seminar, including the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Economic Research under Kazakhstan's Ministry of National Economy, the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute.
The delegation also held discussions with major Chinese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan.
