The Institute for Ethnic Groups Development is a national-level research institution under the DRC. It implements implements the guiding principles and policies of the CPC Central Committee on policy advisory research,, leverage its strength in specialized research, coordinate research resources across China, organizes academic research and exchanges, and actively serves government decision-making. Its main research areas  include ethnic relations, ethnic cultures and ethnic development, and international and regional hotspots issues  arising from ethnic and religious issues.
